2012 MERCEDES-BENZ SLS AMG
Mercedes-Benz pulled the curtain on its latest supercar, the SLS AMG Roadster 2012. Gone are the butterfly doors and the roof set in place are the traditional ports of entry and a folding top. The car is still under testing, but these plans show much of the car I've seen several spy photos. A more accomplished in the world will be unveiled at Frankfurt in September 2011.
Before the SLS AMG Roadster 2012 hits the show circuit, he needs to spend more time with the Mercedes engineers. MB team has done a lot of work in this SLS drop-top and the landing, a flat roof has demanded more than just a basketball taken straight Sega.
While the aluminum chassis was originally developed as a coupe and convertible in mind, Benz engineers added chunky side skirts for the roadster. This improves the performance of both accidents and overall rigidity. It also helps in the search for greater strength, a cross that supports the instrument panel has received additional reinforcements for both the window frame and the transmission tunnel. Despite this rigidity, the shell of the SLS AMG Roadster weighs only five kilos more than the shell of the SLS Cup.
Like its sister hardtop roadster is capable of hitting an electronically limited top speed of 197 miles per hour. The hood consists of three layers, magnesium, steel and aluminum. It is lightweight, strong and can be opened and closed at speeds up to 31 miles per hour.
